Marcia believed that a strong foundation was key to the success of any child. Through her decades of experience as Chair of the Barre City Elementary and Middle School Board she witnessed first-hand how supporting students through afterschool and summer programming can transform their lives and inspire them to dream bigger.

After School and Summer Programming.
Studies show that the vulnerable students fall the farthest behind in the hours outside the normal school day. It is crucial to provide opportunities for students to get support and further engagement after school and during the summer months. .
Enrichment Opportunities for Students
While core curriculum is essential to their growth, students also need inspiration. Field trips, science labs, and experiential learning can empower any child to see a brighter future for themselves in a career that ignites their passion.
Promoting Physical and Mental Well-being and Support.
Many students face immense challenges that impact their learning. Marcia felt passionately that children need a safe place to go where they have mental and emotional support from caring adults.
